POWER BOOSTER
What is Cetane? Cetane is a measure of the ignition quality of diesel fuel. Higher number = quicker, more complete combustion. Measures delay between Injection and start of combustion. The higher the number, the shorter the delay and the more power. Higher Cetane levels decrease engine and injector noise, improves cold starts, increased engine power, increases diesel fuel economy, reduces exhaust emissions and reduces the amount of ‘smoke’ and reduces turbo spooling (time to reach turbo boost).
STABILITY
As fuel temperature is elevated in the presence of oxygen, thermal oxidation is increased, resulting in the formation of insoluble elements, Asphaltenes. These can cause filter blocking and engine and fuel system deposits. In small quantities the soft and deformable Asphaltenes can be harmless to the Injection System. Yet when they combine together they start to block fuel filters effecting engine performance.
WATER IN FUEL
Water is present in some form in all diesel fuel. It is introduced thru delivery, condensation or contamination. Water in diesel causes corrosion of the fuel componentry, erosion of injector tips, increases fuel freezing point, assists in the growth of microbes (no water equals no microbes, bugs or algae). Engine OEM’s do not want any water going into the fuel injection system and install fuel / water separators on all diesel engines. Water decreases fuel lubricity, causing wear. Demulsifies in fuel help water molecules join together and become large enough for the fuel water separators to remove them. OEM’s recommend the use of demulsifiers in any fuel additive as it help the fuel water separators do its job.
COLD WEATHER STARTS
Diesel in cold weather is prone to waxing or gelling. This is called Cloud Point where fuel begins to develop solid wax particles giving it a cloudy appearance. The presence of solidified waxes thickens the oil, tends to clog fuel filters and injectors in engines. Crystals can build up in the fuel line (especially in fuel filters) until the engine is starved of fuel, causing it to stop running or not to start. Indications of this is when fuel goes from clear to cloudy, and this can begin at temperature as high as 5˚C, depending on fuel quality.
INJECTOR FOULING
Modern diesel fuel injectors have very “strict tolerances” to allow injector pressures up to 30,000 PSI / 200 Mpa. Fuel injectors are built to this specification to meet legislative emission requirements to provide maximum power and economy, and reduce emissions. Fouling of injectors is caused by the build-up foreign contaminants and cause excessive exhaust smoke, decreased power, increase fuel consumption, increased injector noise and ultimately failure of the injector.

My 120d BMW does a lot of Km’s. I use HEET Diesel Complete to keep it running smooth and the reassurance of getting the best out of my car. Hey and it’s easy to add to the tank every month. Thanks.
When I tow the boat believe me I want all the power I can get. HEET Diesel Cetane Booster gives me that and smooth take-offs too.
After many road miles I started using HEET Diesel Injector Clean and wow, smooth running, noticeably less noise and great power. I guess it’s cleaned up the whole fuel system. It will be part of my regular routine and I now recommend it to my customers.
The injectors on my 2012 D4D Toyota Hilux used to leak on a monthly basis causing major exhaust smoke. Now after regularly using HEET Diesel Injector Clean I haven’t had a worry. Can’t recommend it more highly.
My biggest concern in the snow is being caught not being able to start and getting down the mountain. I used to search out Alpine fuel. Now with HEET Diesel Anti-Gel I don’t have that worry – easy dose and starts first time. Thanks HEET Diesel!
